I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Our class is starting to settle in nicely. This will be another very busy week for the students in room 307. We will continue to work on our reading story, Boom Town. On Friday, we will start our new story, What About Me? This week, we will have a grammar test on Monday, September 13th. We will have our reading test for Boom Town on Thursday. Please take some time to reread this story and also, review the vocabulary with your child. The students will also have a math fact assessment on Tuesday and a written assessment in math on Wednesday.
In addition, we will have two days of 4-Sight Testing. The math 4-Sight test will take place on Tuesday, September 14th and the reading 4-Sight testing will take place on Wednesday, September 15th. The 4-Sight tests were developed to resemble the PSSA (Pennsylvania System of School Assessment) and the data from these benchmark tests will allow us to monitor student achievement over the course of the school year.
This week is the Scholastic Book Fair. Our class is scheduled to visit the book fair on Friday, September 17th. Also, on Thursday, September 16th, we will be having a program on Tourette’s Syndrome.
Below you will find the homework schedule for this week. Please check back frequently throughout the week, there may be some changes. As always, should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
