Homework for the week of October 18th

This week in school, we are starting our reading story, My Rows and Piles of Coins. The students will have their reading test on Friday, October 22nd. In Grammar, we will be studying simple sentences and compound sentences. A simple sentence has one subject and one predicate. A compound sentence contains two simple sentences joined by a comma and a word such as and, but, or or. Our grammar test will also be on Friday. In spelling, we will be working on words that contain the vowel sounds in out and toy.  Our pretest will be Wednesday and our final spelling test will take place on Friday.
In math we will be studying a variety of material ranging from identifying dozen and ½ dozen, reading and writing numbers to 1,000, writing money amounts using dollar and cent signs, reading and shading a thermometer, and working on addition facts. There will be a fact assessment on Friday.
Just a reminder, we will be participating in the diabetes walk on Friday afternoon.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Have a wonderful week!
