Homework of the week of May 9, 2011

Thank you for checking our homework helpline. I can't beleive how quickly this year is coming to a close. We still have a lot of learning to take place. Being that there will be so many activities this week, we will be working on our reading story, Goodbye 382 Shin, Dang, Dong over the next two weeks. We will also stretch our spelling list over the next two weeks with our final spelling test taking place on Friday, May 20. Our spelling pretest will take place on Thursday, May 12th.

In math, we will be working on writing number sentences for division story problems and multiplying a multiple of 10, 100, or 1,000 by a single-digit number.

In grammar, we will be working with adverbs. Again, we will be having a test on Friday, May 20th.

I'm sure that your child shared the Operation Montserrat Mission with you. This Friday we will take part in a distance learning project which will focus on volcanoes and hurricanes. The children will work on teams in order to evacuate individuals during this hypothetical situation.

Also, our field trip is scheduled for Tuesday, May 10.

Have a wonderful week!
