Class News for the Week of November 28th

This Week's Focus

Reading – This week we will be reading our story, The Strongest One. We will continue to work on reading this story and have an assessment on Friday. Please study the vocabulary words for this assessment.

Writing – We will continue to work on narrative writings.

Math – Today we will start Topic 6: mental math. We will also focus a lot of our attention on subtraction facts.


Science – We are continuing to work on weather. This week and next week we will be discussing the water cycle.

Reminders

The children go outside for recess each day. Please be sure that your child has a coat, gloves, scarf, and a hat.

Please be mindful of our policy here at NSE- if your child misses 4 homework assignment in one month, there will be consequences.

Also, students are required to bring their HORSE folder to school each day. Please check your child’s backpack each morning to be sure it is returned. Thank you!

Upcoming Events

This year the students will be able to participate in the Holiday Gift Shop. Shopping will take place next week. If you permit your child to shop, please send money in an envelope with your child’s name on the front. More information will be coming home soon!

Report cards for K-4 grades will be sent home on Friday, December 8th.

NSE Chorus/Band Program will take place on Saturday, December 9th. Hope to see you there!!
