Class New for the Week of January 15, 2018

This Week's Focus

Reading – This week we will be finishing up our story, Abraham Lincoln. We will have our reading and vocabulary assessments on Wednesday.

Writing – We will now be working on opinion writings. We will be focusing on one writing a week. We will start the process of brainstorming, rough draft, conferencing, and final product.

Math – This week we will continue working on graphing, telling time, and counting money. The students will finish up their own pictograph this week. We will be displaying them in the hallway. They will be coming home in a few weeks. They all did a great job on this project!!

Science – We are continuing to work on weather. This week and next week we will be discussing why we measure the weather and the different tools we can use when measuring weather.

Reminders 

The children go outside for recess each day. Please be sure that your child has a coat, gloves, scarf, and a hat.

Please be mindful of our policy here at NSE- if your child misses 4 homework assignment in one month, there will be consequences.

Also, students are required to bring their HORSE folder to school each day. Please check your child’s backpack each morning to be sure it is returned. Thank you!

Upcoming Events

January 16^th - We will be having a pep rally to kick of Boosterthon. More information will be sent home this week!

January 19^th – Spartan dress down – Donation $1.00

January 25^th – Boosterthon Fun Run!!! This is a non-rotation day.
