Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving vacation. This week, we will start reading the story Tops & Bottoms. This story will carry over to next week and the test will take place on Wednesday, December 8th. In spelling, we will start a new list of words that concentrate on words spelled with spl, thr, squ, and str. Our pretest will be on Monday, December 6th and our final spelling test will be on Wednesday, December 8th. In grammar we will be studying singular possessive nouns. Our grammar test will also take place on Wednesday, December 8th.
In science we will continue to study beetles. Please review the content and vocabulary sheets that were sent home last week. In math, we will start multiplying by 1 and 10, estimating and finding capcaity of containers and reading a thermometer to the nearest degree fahrenheit. We will also identify freezing and boiling points of water. We are scheduled to have a fact assessment on Wednesday and a written assessment on Thursday.
On Thursday and Friday, we will have several parents coming into our rooms to discuss their career with us. The students in room 307 are very excited about our first "Career Fair". Also, on Monday, December 6, our classroom will take some time to visit Santa's Workshop. The students will have time to do some shopping for the special people on their shopping list.
As always, please check back throughout the week because assignments may change due to what we covered in class. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
