Homework for the week of March 28, 2011

Thank you for checking our homework helpline. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will be a "regular" week, without any storms. In reading, we are working on the story, Hottest, Coldest, Highest, Deepest. Our reading test will be on Friday, April 1, 2011. In spelling, we are working on spelling words that have vowels with r. Our pretest will take place on Wednesday and our final spelling test will be on Friday.

In grammar, we are working with subject and object pronouns. Our test will take place on Friday.

We will start our week off with a math test on Monday. Our assessment will be on multiplying by 5's and on Tuesday, we will also have a subtraction fact assessment and a written assessment. This coming week, we will be learning how to work backwards to solve a problem, dividing by 2 & 5, determining the likelihood of an event, determining the fairness of a game, subtracting two- and three-digit numbers, and comparing, ordering, adding, and subtracting unit fractions with denominations of 2,3,4, & 8 using fractions strips.

In science we are continuing to work with water. This week we will focus on the density of hot and cold water. Please continue to study the vocab. and content sheet that was sent home last week.
