Homework for the week of January 31, 2010

Hello to all! If the weather cooperates, this will be a very busy week. In reading, we are starting our new story, Night Letters. Throughout this story, we will focus on asking questions and drawing conclusions. Our test will be on Friday.

In spelling we are focusing on spelling words with the consonant sounds /j/ and /k/. Our pretest will be on Wednesday and our final spelling test will take place on Friday.

In science, we will continue to study crayfish. We are monitoring and tracking the crayfish behavior. Please continue studying the vocab, content, and crayfish diagram. Our test will be on Thursday.

In grammar, we are studying subject-verb agreement and working on making verbs agree with the subject. Again, our test will be on Friday.

This week in math, we will be focusing on: adding and subtracting multiples of 100, multiplying by 2, drawing and reading a line graph, and telling time to the minute. We will have a fact assessment on Tuesday and Wednesday and a written assessment on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, we will also be celebrating the 100th day of school. Fun activities are planned for this day. Please remember that each student was assigned a president to research. The due date for this project is February 22, 2011.
