Homework for the week of November 21, 2011

Weekly Happenings for Room 217

This will be a short week for the students being that they have an early dismissal on Wednesday, November 23rd. Students will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m. School will resume on Tuesday, November 29th.

In reading we will continue working on author’s purpose and asking questions. Our reading test will take place on Tuesday, November 22nd.

Our spelling pretest will be on Monday, November 21st and our final spelling test will take place on Tuesday, November 22nd.

On Monday we will review long a, c /s/, and g /j/ words. On Tuesday we will continue working on long I and digraphs ch, tch, and wh.

In math we will be working on the following:

1. Telling time to the hour
2. Subtracting 0
3. Subtracting a number from itself

Please continue to practice the addition and math facts with your child.
In grammar we will continue working on special titles. Our grammar assessment will take place on Tuesday, November 22nd.

This week we are also working in groups to put on a play. We will only be practicing this at school and thought it would be a fun way to wrap up our holiday week.

Spelling – Corrections 5x’s each
